St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 85 Forbell Street, Brooklyn, New York received the Metro New York ELCA Synod's Heart Of Ministry Award on Sunday, November 22, 2009 during its 95th Anniversary Worship Celebration.  The award was presented by Charlie Germain who is the chairperson of the Family and Youth Committee of the Metro New York ELCA Synod.  The award was presented to St. Philip in recognition of their work with young adults during Youth Group Meetings, which were coordinated and implemented by the youths of the congregation and sponsored by the Ministry Among Guyanese.
